The BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition concluded just a couple of weeks ago after providing some of the industry's best vendors, speakers and networking activities. We followed up with Chatsworth Products (CPI) booth staff and experts to understand what you and your peers were most interested in discussing while visiting our booth, including your day-to-day challenges and where you found success. We also inquired about which products and solutions received the most attention.

Here is a recap of what you and your peers seemed most interested in learning more about, based on your daily challenges:

What Were You & Your Peers Most Interested In?

Security at the Cabinet Level

Cabinet-level security is the first line of defense in data centers' data protection and security policies—but what has worked in the past is no longer adequate to meet the challenges of the future. The adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) and tighter compliance regulations have increased the need for enhanced security in the data center.

When assessing or reassessing cybersecurity processes and controls, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) teams should consider the following:

  • Are there safeguards in place to control physical access to sensitive data?
  • Can access to data be monitored by physically and remotely?
  • Is an audit trail showing who has accessed sensitive data and when they accessed it necessary?

Featured Solutions

eConnect® Electronic Access Control eConnect® Electronic Access Control (EAC) - CPI's eConnect EAC provides a simple and effective solution for physical access control, power management and environmental monitoring. It's a cost-effective networked locking solution that works with CPI's eConnect Power Distribution Units (PDUs) using a single network connection and one interface to monitor all three elements, greatly simplifying rack management and enhancing cabinet-level security.
CUBE-iT Wall-Mount Cabinet - CUBE-IT_WALLMT_FRTBACK_DOORSOPN_RGB72.jpg CUBE-iT™ Wall-Mount Cabinet - The CUBE-iT Wall-Mount Cabinet is ideal for installers and IT teams challenged by space limitations or by areas where noise is an issue. Its three-part, swing out design enables easy access to the front and rear of installed equipment, while enhancing security. The single lock and key on the front door provides access to the cabinet, and the internal latch mechanism—only accessible when the front door is open—secures the rear panel.

Industrial Enclosures and Cooling Options

With the evolution and growth of IIoT and IoT adoption and the need to for businesses to extend their network to the edge, IT teams are having to specify equipment for nontraditional spaces. In these cases, it's especially important to select industrial solutions that can protect sensitive equipment from the elements, while keeping equipment cool.

Featured Solutions

RMR® Industrial Enclosures RMR® Industrial Enclosures with Cooling Options - CPI's RMR Industrial Enclosures provide primary protection of sensitive IT equipment in environments that are dustry, dirty and possibly wet, and that experience wide temperature variations. They are able to provide this type of protection because they are completely sealed when closed and are IP- or NEMA-rated.

The sealed design of industrial enclosures does not allow for ventilation needed to cool internal electronics, so a filter fan or cooling unit is required. Proper selection is critical to ensuring high equipment performance and availability, and improved efficiency. RMR enclosures can be specified and purchased with the filter fan or cooling unit you need—and all under one part number.

Advancements in Cable Management

Business IP traffic is expected to grow annually at very high rates. Network engineers and IT teams are being challenged to ensure availability and speed of the network to business users. Understanding advancements in cable management and equipment storage can help you prepare for upcoming network upgrades.

Featured Solutions

Pemsa® Rejiband® Wire Mesh Cable Tray System Pemsa® Rejiband® Wire Mesh Tray System - CPI announced a new partnership with Pemsa recently and highlighted the innovative Pemsa Rejiband Wire Mesh Tray System, now available in the U.S. and Canada exclusively by CPI. It's a complete pathway solution that can be supported from the wall, ceiling, floor or from the tops of CPI Rack and Cabinet Systems. The joint solution will help to enhance safety and compliance in the data center and for premise network and electrical distribution, while increasing worker efficiency and network performance.
Motive® Cable Management System
Motive® Cable Management System - The award-winning Motive Cable Manager is a highly versatile, fiber-friendly cable manager that includes tool-less accessories and many design elements that promote intuitive use, enhancing the user experience. The unique design of accessories provides numerous cable segregation configurations that allow for direct support of cables with optimal airflow through the cable manager, preparing networks for higher wattage in Power over Ethernet (PoE).

CPI featured many other popular products during the event. If you would like to know more or are interested in what you missed, please read our Solutions brochure or simply leave a comment below.
