China Embraces Commitment to Reduce Emissions

China has been taking major steps to reduce carbon emissions, and the country took a significant step in December 2015, when it signed the Paris Climate Agreement to lower carbon dioxide intensity by 60 to 65 percent from 2005 levels by 2030, among other actions.
