Last week, we told you about the recently released Third Edition of ASHRAE’s Thermal Guidelines for Data Processing Environments. Along with a heavy emphasis on the importance of containment in data center thermal management, the new guidelines also point to the effectiveness of liquid cooling in achieving energy efficiency.
One company helping to advance liquid cooling in the marketplace is Canadian-based CoolIT Systems, who will be exhibiting at the upcoming SC12 Conference and Exhibition in Salt Lake City, Utah, November 12-15.

Here, the same microprocessor liquid cooling technology that has enabled high-end gamers to effectively cool their over-clocked desktops is now being made available for HPC (high performance computing) data centers to simultaneously reduce cost and improve performance.
