While the spring weather is definitely a welcome change of pace for many, there’s always good reason to pay close attention to the elements in your data center. That includes issues like temperature, humidity, water and smoke, which can all wreak havoc if left unchecked. Thankfully, Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI) makes the detection of environmental factors within your installation a breeze with the Remote Infrastructure Management System, better known as the RIM-600.

RIM-600 front and rear viewsIn addition to the environmental set points you can remotely monitor using the RIM-600, the system also offers real time reporting on security issues such as the open and close of key doors within the room, motion detection, and mission critical elements such as power levels to equipment and the monitoring of dry contact inputs from supporting devices.

To keep this system running in top form, we recently rolled out a variety of new RIM-600 ConsoleView Software (V3.029) and Host (V1.44)/Node (V4.16) Firmware upgrades.

While all new RIM-600 systems will ship with the most recent software and firmware versions, existing users have the option to access these updates here. For those who don't wish to upgrade, no worries - your RIM-600 will continue to function just fine and continue providing top notch monitoring.

As always, we encourage RIM-600 users to keep ConsoleView software up to date regardless of the firmware versions you are using, while also encouraging users who need assistance with this upgrade to email or call CPI Technical Support at 1-800-834-4969. Jeff Cihocki, Global eContent Specialist
