Cabling Installation and Maintenance will be offering a webcast addressing data center thermal management. The web-delivered seminar will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 10 am Pacific Time/1 pm Eastern Time. It will look at different styles of dealing with data center heat generation.
CPI’s Senior Data Center Architect, Bill Watts, will be presenting CPI’s Passive Cooling Techniques. “The presentation will be a high level, but very simple example of the straight forward flexibility basis of passive cooling. Install, compute anywhere-anytime you like until you reach the design kW threshold of your facility. Fill the whole data center at the beginning or one cabinet at a time over a long duration. It will always be simply efficient!” Bill said.
Bill Watts has 25 years of Mechanical construction/contracting experience utilizing air and water cooling mediums. For the past eight years Bill was responsible for Data Center design and building standards at Intel Corporation for their global data centers. In 2003 Bill was instrumental in developing the advanced passive cooling techniques incorporated in CPI cabinet solutions. Bill was a featured speaker at multiple industry conventions and Intel DC Summits and Instructor for data center power and thermal solutions and modeling. Bill’s mission is to employ emerging mechanical applications with IT requirements to create successful solutions for air based cooling.
