Swimming, cookouts, parades, baseball games, fireworks – just a few of the building blocks of a traditional Independence Day celebration; and I personally intend to celebrate to the fullest. Of course the reason Americans celebrate this holiday is because of the bold step the colonists took in 1776 when they declared their freedom from Great Britain. Now more than 230 years later we continue to enjoy the benefits, whether we consciously think about it or not.
As a former United States Marine, I probably think about these things more than most and get pretty excited discussing them. Similarly, as a current Chatsworth Products employee, I believe in our mission and enjoy talking about what we do and the products we make. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be sitting here typing this blog article. So, as I stared at the wall of my cube and considered how I could discuss these two passions of mine and have it make sense, it came to me in one word – FREEDOM. The connection of this word with the Fourth of July is obvious, but how does it relate to IT infrastructure products? It’s simple – cable management.
Have you ever or do you currently suffer with bad cable management? If you have any experience with this then you understand the frustrations of limited freedom. It’s somewhat difficult to move, add or change equipment or cabling in a rack or enclosure where the cable looks like a tangle of spaghetti. Even if you don’t plan to make any changes to your equipment poor cable management can damage the physical properties and performance of your cable. For example, whenever cable changes direction, the bend in the cable (especially a sharp bend) has the potential to change the electrical properties of the cable. Also, tight bundling or improper support of cable may deform, stretch or add tension that can negatively affect circuit performance. Read our Cable Management White Paper for more details.
Fortunately, CPI has forged the cable management trail and won the victory so you can enjoy cable management freedom; and all of this was done without a single loss of life. Though we have set the benchmark in cable management products for both racks and enclosures, I want to give you an update on our Evolution™ Cable Managers for Rack Systems. We first introduced Evolution in January and have recently expanded the offering to include additional sizes. The vertical manager is now available in three heights and five widths in both the single- and double-sided versions. The horizontal manager is now available in 1 RMU, 2 RMU and 3 RMU heights. We expect to further expand Evolution with additional accessories in the near future.
So, don’t live under the oppression of bad cable management any more. Declare your independence – check out Evolution Cable Managers.
And finally, I want to express my gratitude to all who have served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces. Kim Ream, eMarketing Designer
