Chatsworth Products’ (CPI) popular Standard Swing Gate Rack recently got the Pre-approval of Manufacturer’s Certification (OPM) from the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD).
This means the Swing Gate meets the seismic design requirements of supports and attachments for nonstructural components used in the construction of health facilities in California.
The Swing Gate is used for patch panels and switches in telecommunication rooms where floor space is limited, or when access to the rear of the equipment is critical.
OPM should be referenced in Construction Documents for CBC 2013 based projects and may also be used for guidance in IBC 2012 based projects outside of California. While OSHPD requirements are only enforced in California, other states with high risk of seismic activity look for this standard as a benchmark.
Look for CPI’s list of OPM products here, so you can reduce the OSHPD approval cycle when planning installations in seismically active regions.
