With 2012 in full swing, now’s a good time to update you on some important credentialing news for one of the industry’s most active and influential professional associations, BICSI.
For those in telecommunications, security, data centers and all manner of specialized industries such as healthcare and education, BICSI’s long-running Credentialing Program represents a benchmark of planning and installation expertise.
And just as information technology continues to grow more complex and segment-oriented, the program continues to expand, adding specific accreditation courses and titles in Wireless Design (WD), Outside Plant Design (OSP) and Network Technology Systems (NTS) just to name a few.
In 2012, two new designations are set to take their place among the pack:
- Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC) – actually added in late 2011, the DCDC designation recognizes those individuals tasked with multiple duties specifically within data center design and construction.
- Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM) – still in its interim phase, the RTPM designation is slated for official inclusion later this year, offering accreditation for those knowledgeable in telecommunications project management.
