If you’re a data center operator or facilities manager in California, there’s a good chance you’re familiar with the Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development (OSHPD). As the official regulatory agency that oversees construction of hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the state, OSHPD has become a fundamental lynchpin for ensuring safe building codes and requirements due to California’s seismically active topography.
When IT infrastructure storage equipment such as CPI racks and cabinets are installed in California hospitals, it’s OSHPD who is responsible for reviewing and approving the anchorage design as well as the architectural structure design of those items. And because other building regulatory agencies have taken after OSHPD’s lead, many of them also recognize the anchorage and architectural structure designs that carry the OSHPD Pre-Approval (OPA) number designation.
For many years, the CPI website has contained a unique webpage, which listed all OPA numbers and their corresponding CPI products. During this time, customers who wished to obtain the actual documents were asked to contact CPI Tech Support directly, who’d then fulfill the request.
But now, in our ongoing efforts to make your online experience with CPI as easy as possible, we’re proud to report that the CPI OSHPD Pre-Approved Products webpage now gives you direct access to all those OPA numbers and corresponding files (example seen at right) for quick and easy download. That includes a full assortment of:
- CPI Two-Post Racks
- Four-Post Racks
- Wall-Mount Systems
- Zone and Wireless Enclosures
- Cable Runway
Also important to customers seeking OSHPD Pre-Approval OPA numbers and documentation are CPI's variety of specially engineered seismic protection systems for racks, cabinets and cable pathway.
