2012 International CESHappening as we speak, the 2012 International CES Exhibit and Conference in Las Vegas brings together the world’s most innovative gadgets and gizmos and the self-professed tech geeks who love them.

And for a consumer electronics industry that does nearly $200 billion worth of business here in the United States, it’s safe to say that the tech geeks really, really love their gadgets and gizmos.

From mega-sized high-definition televisions that sport glasses-less 3D technology to paper-thin tablets that wirelessly control a home’s lighting and door locks, the annual CES show has become the world’s premier showcase for the technology of tomorrow making its debut today.

So what’s making waves at this year’s show? Internet connectivity – on everything.

You're probably familiar with HDTVs of all sizes now being WiFi capable and ready to stream content at a moment’s notice. But how about your next refrigerator? Yup, even the old icebox is getting the internet treatment, complete with built-in touchscreen interface to note-take, music-listen and tweet your way towards that next late-night snack. Have a look, courtesy of tech blog, Mashable:

Of course, all this new and improved connectivity is yet another indication of the move towards true cloud-based computing and networking.

Just as reminders written earlier in the day on your mobile device will sync and display later that evening on your fridge door, the literal link between our gadgets and gizmos still relies on the physical infrastructure of a data center or computer room to bridge the gap.

And when it comes to the best in physical infrastructure storage, Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI) not only offers the kind of cabinet, rack and cable management products that help data centers power the cloud, we also excel at providing and securing wireless local area networks (LANs) with storage that helps even the smallest storefront keep its customers connected and its assets safe.

Zone Cabling and Wireless Enclosures from CPIThat includes our full product line of Zone Cabling and Wireless Enclosures, perfect for those out-of-the-way Ceiling Systems used for wireless access points (see image at right), as well as our always popular DVR Security Enclosures used to help remotely monitor and securely record real-time video in case of break-ins and tampering.

Across it all, it’s good to know that no matter how much technology continues to influence our daily lives, we’ll always have the ability to manage the framework that keeps it all humming along! Jeff Cihocki, Global eContent Specialist
