CPI Office for Europe, Middle East and Africa Presents Passive Cooling and Green Data Centre Design to Attendees in Ireland

(International, Data Center, Seminars and Training) Permanent link

CPI EMEA organised two presentations on “Passive Cooling” and “Green Data Centre Design” last week at a seminar in Dublin, Ireland.

CDW Dual Row of TeraFrame CabinetsThe purpose of the presentations was to learn how to design cost effective solutions to optimize IT investments and energy consumption through infrastructure products and services. The session was designed to appeal to designers, consultants, installers and data centre facilities management and will also to provide an opportunity to discuss any maintenance or design issues with our experts.

Our presenters, Bill Watts, Senior Data Center Architect C2G (Chatsworth Consulting Group) and Ian Cathcart, Technical Support Manager – EMEA addressed the separation of HVAC supply air from return air in the data centre which offers significant operating cost benefits. The presentation described how to achieve that separation and then described the economic benefits achievable for a Greenfield and Brownfield construction projects, an upgrade from rack servers to blade servers, and for simple mitigation techniques in a data centre facility with problematic hot spots.

The seminar, which was co-sponsored by CPI Certified Installer Mercury and Kedington, was very interactive and filled to capacity. If you were unable to attend, come visit Chatsworth Products at the June 2009 BICSI Conference also being held in Dublin. Shalini Booluck, Office Manager, EMEA
