SXSW Austin TexasAustin, Texas is about 26 miles south of CPI’s Georgetown Manufacturing Facility and Research, Development and Training Center. Often, CPI customers who visit our RD&T Center during the day will head to downtown Austin in the evening for its vibrant music scene, festivals and outdoor activities. The city’s slogan, "The Live Music Capital of the World", is a reference to the thousands of musicians and live music venues within the area.

The South by Southwest (SXSW®) Conference and Festival kicks off this Friday, and is expected to draw more than 11,000 people from around the globe. It will feature more than 2,000 bands on 80 stages as well as give exposure to new film talent. SXSW also happens to be the highest revenue-producing special event for the Austin economy, with an estimated economic impact of at least $104 million in 2009. This year the festival takes place from March 12 – March 21 and the entire Austin area will be saturated with film and music gurus, hopefuls and die hard fans.

So if you are in the area, or interested in swinging by our Georgetown location on your way to the festival, please contact us at 512.868.6070 to schedule a visit. For more information on the festival, feel free to check out the website at http://sxsw.com/home. You won’t want to miss out. Lindsay Klein, RD&T Coordinator
