WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Jan. 14, 2014 – The new Build To Spec (BTS) Kit Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) Solution by Chatsworth Products (CPI) is a highly adaptable, easy-to-order, field-fabricated solution ideal for custom, retrofit applications that have a mix of cabinets in varying heights, widths and depths.
The BTS Kit is a huge advancement in data center containment. It arrives on a pallet with only eight unique components and is designed for easy installation and customization on-site.
“The BTS Kit allows you to be really flexible, whether you’re in a new or retrofit installation. The design allows you to custom-fit the containment to the cabinets in a data center environment and addresses a multitude of variables that are site-specific, while still maintaining a very effective seal to maximize performance,” Sam Rodriguez, CPI’s Product Manager of Cabinet & Thermal Solutions explains.
The BTS Kit features a ceiling- or cabinet- supported duct that is used over a contained hot aisle as part of a closed hot air return. It integrates with perimeter cooling, providing immediate improved cooling efficiency and is compatible with economization methods.
Other features include:
• Elevated, single-piece duct that allows cabinets to be removed, omitted or replaced as required
• Translucent duct and door panels that allow light to enter the contained aisle
• Doors that close automatically to maintain containment and reduce recovery time
“BTS Kit allows you to deploy the containment regardless of the dimensions of the installed cabinet and equipment,” Rodriguez states.
