WESTLAKE VILLAGE, California, US – May 2012 - Chatsworth Products (CPI), a global manufacturer providing products and solutions that optimize, store and secure technology equipment, will present the Data Center Power & Cooling Efficiency Seminar this June in Toronto, Ottawa and Calgary. These events each last one day and offer data center professionals the opportunity to earn BICSI and American Institute of Architects (AIA) credits.
Firmly established as a worldwide leader of innovative and sustainable cooling solutions for enterprise data centers, CPI tailored these seminars to help Canada’s data center professionals reduce cooling costs, manage airflow and deploy power for mission critical systems. This need to manage power and cooling efficiencies has become increasingly important in recent years as equipment manufacturers continue to put greater demands on cooling equipment and power availability.
“Energy required to cool the data center has traditionally constituted 30-50 percent of the entire data center energy budget,” said Ian Seaton, CPI Global Technology Manager. “It is the single largest controllable operating expense.”
While each seminar offers in-depth analysis and discussions on power, cooling solutions and cable distribution, the Data Center Power & Cooling Efficiency Seminar will have two slightly different agendas. The first two stops in Toronto (June 5) and Ottawa (June 7) will be the same, offering attendees five BICSI and two AIA credits. However, the third and final stop in Calgary on June 12 will vary to include discussions on liquid cooling and cloud technology, for a total of six BICSI credits and one for AIA.
Utilizing real world examples and proven solutions, the Data Center Power & Cooling Efficiency seminar will be presented by CPI’s experts on Passive Cooling Solutions, as well as participants from Innovative Research, Universal Electric, Corning Cable Systems, Interstitial Systems, Logicalis and CoolIT Solutions.
“We will be covering a wide range of material within the data center focus,” added Seaton. “The different participating companies have previously collaborated on data center projects and can speak to integrated systems that are known to be interoperable. Furthermore, since we are representing different companies, you will hear some alternate perspectives that you would not necessarily hear during sales calls or meetings hosted by a single vendor.”
