To properly install and support equipment, the Seismic Frame Two-Post Rack is equipped with two pairs of adjustable depth mounting rails that can be spaced 6” (150 mm) or 3” (80 mm) apart to fit equipment requirements. The rails are available with #12-24 threaded or square-punched holes, include marked and numbered RMU spaces to simplify equipment installation and can be reversed so that numbering starts at the bottom or top of the rack-mount space.
Fully bonded, the Seismic Frame Two-Post Rack offers two masked grounding locations and includes a Two Mounting Hole Ground Terminal Block for easy connection to the Telecommunications Grounding Busbar. The rack also provides convenient power and cable distribution to equipment by containing unique built-in mounting locations along the front and sides of the rack for attaching T-shaped Cable Management Fingers and Vertical Power Strips. CPI’s T-shaped Cable Management Fingers align with each RMU on the Seismic Frame Two-Post Rack and connect to the front and rear edges of the frame, guiding up to 48 patch cords to each RMU. Vertical Power Strips attach in the corners or along the sides of the rack providing multiple power connections for equipment, without using any RMU or cable management space.
To meet individual requirements, the Seismic Frame Two-Post rack presents a variety of accessories including the new Vertical Cabling Section, which supplies a double-sided front and rear cable pathway next to the rack frame for managing cables. Many of CPI’s other double-sided cable managers will also work with the Seismic Frame Two-Post Rack. In addition, a Floor Drilling Template is available to quickly and easily locate and drill holes for the Seismic Frame Two-Post Rack floor anchors.
Not only does the Seismic Frame Two-Post Rack offer a sturdy, robust design with a variety of options, but also supplies the industry’s highest seismic load rating available. It is certified for 1,000 lb (453.6 kg) of equipment and cabling in a seismic area, per Section 4.4 of the Telcordia® Technologies, Inc. GR-63-CORE Network Equipment Buildings Systems (NEBS) Zone 4 requirements.
