CPI's New RIM-600 Delivers Flexible, Scalable and Affordable
Remote Monitoring . . . Your Solution to Prevent Costly Downtime

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - 2006 - Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a leading manufacturer of systems designed to organize, store and secure IT infrastructure equipment prevents costly downtime with the new Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM-600) System.

Ensure maximum uptime by remotly monitoring, recording, analyzing and reporting environmental, security and safety conditions in data centers and equipment rooms with the patented technology found in CPI's RIM-600.

Computer, data storage and network equipment have specific temperatures and humidity tolerance ranges that are critical for long-term reliable operation. Operating outside of these tolerance ranges can reduce the system mean time between failures, resulting in costly repairs and downtime. Successful data center and equipment room management requires constant environmental monitoring to guarantee issues are addressed before problems occur. If both power and network capabilities are lost, the RIM-600 continues to operate with the internal battery backup, non-volatile data storage and phone connection so monitoring abilities are never lost.

RIM-600

Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM-600)

CPI's RIM-600 includes internal sensors and offers external sensors that provide IT remote monitoring, logging and reporting. Based on programmed thresholds, this fault tolerant system will examine important environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, power and sound. The RIM-600 will keep equipment secure with network cameras, motion detectors, door switches and contact sensors. In addition, the RIM-600 will maintain equipment and personnel safety by monitoring and reporting fire, smoke and water leakage.

If a network problem occurs, CPI's RIM-600 will inform designated individuals through various communication interfaces (phone, pager, email, fax or SNMP), allowing for resolution of the problems before developing into a disaster. The RIM-600 also supervises and reports the status of network links, routers, printers, servers and other devices with an IP address. The easy to use scheduling tool allows multiple points of contact to be assigned and specific sequences of contact per event, designated for each team member - up to 64 users, eight contacts points for each alarm. An integrated web server makes it easy to set up monitoring thresholds and analyze collected data through a web browser.

The flexibility, scalability and adaptability provided by the RIM-600 makes it the ultimate choice. Each RIM-600 Host or Node Module supports up to eight external sensors and will automatically poll up to 64 IP addresses using a scheduled network ping and port service tests (HTTP, FTP, email, etc...). With the capacity to connect up to 31 nodes to each host, monitor up to 256 environmental sensors, 2,048 IP addresses and ports anywhere in the customer's network, the RIM-600 presents an abundance of capabilities and functions without a large investment. Whether monitoring a single server room or a side-area-network, the RIM-600 is the solution that will grow with changing needs.

With the addition of a RIM-600 PowerGate Module, remote power monitoring and control can be added. The PowerGate 1 has a 120VAC input with eight controllable 120VAC outputs. The PowerGate 2 has eight 120VAC inputs and eight controllable 120VAC outputs. Remotely turn outlets on, off or cycle each individually.

Use the RIM-600 with CPI Cabinet Systems, Rack Systems, Wall-Mount Cabinets and Wall-Mount Racks. Find out more about CPI's RIM-600 at www.chatsworth.com/RIM600.
