CPI Awarded Patent For Ramped Latch Closure System
On Standard Swing Gate Wall Rack

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - September, 2005 - Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a leading manufacturer of systems designed to organize, store and secure IT infrastructure equipment was recently awarded a patent on the Ramped Latch Closure System for the Standard Swing Gate Wall Rack.

The Standard Swing Gate Wall Rack provides easy access to the rear of equipment, making it the ideal choice for supporting patch panels and switches. Supporting single-sided and double-sided shelves, the swinging gate door opens to the right or left depending on installation preference.  The newly patented Ramped Latch Closure System is a key component of the Standard Swing Gate Wall Rack. Present in all four front corners of the rack, the Ramped Latch Closure System is diagonally symmetrical and functions to secure the swing gate door in a closed position. When closing the swing gate door, pins that extend from the actual door strike the ramp located on the stationary portion of the top and bottom of the rack. Once the pins strike the ramp they spring up and then snap down, securing the door shut. To open the swing gate door, both latch pins on the opening side must be disengaged. There is one located on the top and one on the bottom. This new system benefits the user by requiring little to no effort when closing the swing gate door, as the Ramped Latch Closure System is simple and self sufficient.
